Privacy Policy

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Account & profile data: name, age, gender, relationship preferences, bio, profile photos, and intro/prompt videos.
• Sign-in data: if you create an account or sign in using Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the information you authorize that provider to share with us, such as your name and email address (or, if you use Apple's Hide My Email, a private relay address). We never receive your Apple or Google password.
• Event lead data: name, email, phone number, and optional Instagram handle that you provide at an in-person event or on the event reserve page, plus any intro video filmed for you at the event (by you or by event staff).
• Referral & membership data: whether you are a Founding Member or Matchmaker, the staff member or friend who referred you, and the plus-ones you bring to events (used to attribute referral rewards).
• Location data: precise GPS coordinates and general location (city/region), used to show nearby matches and enable distance-based filtering. You may use the Service without granting location access, but some features will be unavailable.
• Communications: messages sent between users on the platform.
• Device & usage data: device type, operating system, browser, IP address, user agent, pages visited, interactions (likes, passes, matches, messages), video views, and session activity.
• Analytics data: page view events collected via Google Analytics (GA4).
• Email engagement data: when you tap a button or link in one of our event emails — the reminders about your saved intro video, the notice before it is removed, or an email sent to you by event staff — we record that the tap happened, when, and which email it came from, before sending you on to the page you were going to. This applies whether or not you have an account. We do not track whether an email was opened or read, and we do not use tracking pixels or invisible images in our emails.

The Service may allow access to or make available opportunities for you to view certain content, specific features and to receive other products, services and/or other materials based on your location. To make these opportunities available to you, the Service will determine your location using one or more reference points, such as GPS, Bluetooth and/or software within your mobile device. If you have set your mobile device to disable GPS, Bluetooth or other location-determining software or do not authorize the App to access your location data, you can still use the Services but you will not be able to access certain location-specific content, products, services and materials that can only be shown based on your location.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and operate the Service, including matching users and enabling messaging.
• Create your account and authenticate you when you sign in, including via Sign in with Apple or Google.
• Link an intro video filmed for you at an event to your profile when you finish sign-up, matched using the phone number you gave us.
• Attribute referrals and grant Founding Member and Matchmaker rewards (free premium access and referral-based extensions).
• Screen content for policy violations and review age/identity for safety.
• Send notifications about matches, likes, messages, account activity, and reminders about your saved event video.
• Understand whether our event emails are working — for example, whether people who were emailed about a saved video ever tapped through to claim it — so we can send fewer and better emails rather than more of them. We do not use this to build advertising profiles or to target you elsewhere.
• Improve features, analyze usage trends, and comply with legal obligations.

We share data with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service, including:

• Image and video moderation providers (such as SightEngine) who screen uploaded media for prohibited content.
• AI content review services used to assess bios and other text content for policy violations.
• Sign-in providers (Apple, Google) when you choose to authenticate with them; what they share with us is controlled by the permissions you grant on their consent screen.
• Email delivery providers used to send transactional and notification emails.
• Analytics providers (Google Analytics / GA4) who collect anonymized usage data. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
• Payment processors engaged by us to securely handle subscription billing.

Email link taps (see Section 1) are recorded by us on our own systems. We do not use a third-party click-tracking or email-marketing service for this, and the record is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.

We may also share information with authorities or law enforcement where required by law or to report illegal content, including CSAM.

When you delete your account, we remove your profile, matches, messages, likes, passes, and browsing history from our systems immediately. Beyond that, we retain data in accordance with the following schedule:

• Personal data not removed at deletion is anonymized within 30 days.
• Photos and videos are removed from the app and are no longer accessible through the service when you delete your account. Our hosting provider does not offer a way for us to erase the underlying stored file, so a residual copy may remain in their storage. It is not linked to you, is not used by us for any purpose, and is not shown anywhere in the app. If a photo or video was stored at a public web address before you deleted your account, that address may remain reachable by anyone who saved it.
• Event lead videos not yet linked to a profile are retained as described in Section 10 below.
• Usage and technical data is purged within 12 months of account deletion.
• Email engagement records (the date of a tap, the number of taps, and which email it came from) are stored on the event record the email was sent to, and are deleted along with that record — for an unclaimed event record, when it is removed under Section 10.
• Account security records (such as password reset request counts, the associated email address, and the IP address the request came from) are kept only long enough to rate-limit abuse and are deleted within 24 hours. Because a reset can be requested for any address typed into the form, these records may briefly include an address that has no account with us.
• Safety and moderation records (reports, flagged content, suspensions, violations) are retained for longer periods as required by law. When you delete your account, your email address in these records is replaced with a one-way code so the record no longer identifies you, while still preventing a suspended or banned account from being re-created.

Inactive accounts (no login for 90 days) will have their profiles hidden from discovery. You will receive an email notification before this occurs and can reactivate your profile by logging back in.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have the right to:

• Know what personal information is collected about them.
• Delete their personal information.
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of their personal information.
• Non-discrimination for exercising these rights.

You also have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at keepitreeldating@gmail.com, or delete your account yourself under Profile → Account in the app.

Information others provide about you: Some records are created by other people. If a friend adds you as a plus-one, or names you as their referrer and provides your phone number or email so we can credit the reward, that contact information is stored on their record, not yours. Deleting your own account or event record does not automatically remove your contact information from records another person created. If you want that information removed as well, contact us at keepitreeldating@gmail.com and we will locate and delete it.

Do Not Sell or Share: We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited data with analytics providers (Google Analytics) and service providers. To opt out of this sharing, use the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of our website or under Profile → Account in the app, or contact us at keepitreeldating@gmail.com. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to opt out of this sharing. We keep a record of each opt-out (the date, whether it came from the link or your browser's signal, your device type, and your account email if you were signed in) so we can show we honored it.

We show a cookie consent banner the first time you visit and remember your choice, so this section explains what that choice controls.

• Strictly necessary storage is always on and is not covered by the banner. This includes the sign-in token that keeps you logged in, your cookie choice itself, your light/dark theme setting, and a short-lived draft of your profile form so you don't lose it if you close the page. Without these the service cannot function.
• Analytics (Google Analytics) is off until you accept. It tells us which pages are used and how people move through sign-up. If you decline, we instruct Google not to store analytics or advertising identifiers for you.

We do not run advertising on Keep It Reel Dating and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles. You can change your mind at any time using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link at the bottom of our website, or by clearing the site's storage in your browser, which brings the banner back.

Parts of the service use a third-party AI provider. In each case only the text needed for that feature is sent, we do not send your name, email address, phone number or precise location with it, and no AI provider is permitted to use your data to train their models.

• Safety moderation. Bios and other profile text are checked automatically for policy violations. Chat messages are also checked for harassment, threats and explicit content before they are delivered. This means the text of a message you send is processed by an AI provider in transit. Photos and videos are checked by a separate automated image and video moderation service.
• Icebreaker suggestions. When you ask for suggested openers in a conversation, we send the interests listed on your profile and on your match's profile, plus their display name, to generate them.
• Compatibility scores. Where a compatibility indicator is shown, the profile details of both people (such as interests, relationship goal and age) are used to produce a score and a short reason. The score is for display only: it does not change who appears in your Discover feed or the order they appear in.
• Dating coach. If you use the in-app coach, the messages you type to it are sent to the AI provider so it can reply. Treat it as you would any chat assistant and avoid sharing information you would not want processed by a third party.

Automated moderation can be wrong. Where an automated check leads to content being hidden or an account being restricted, you can contact us at keepitreeldating@gmail.com and a person will review it.

Other members can see whether you are currently active. While you have the app open we periodically record a timestamp, and anyone who can see your profile is shown a simple online indicator if that timestamp is within the last five minutes. Other members are never shown the raw timestamp itself, only whether you count as online.

You can set your status to Offline on your Profile page (About Me), which suppresses the indicator. We also record when you last signed in, so that we can hide profiles that have been inactive for 90 days (see Section 4) — that record is not shown to other members.

Distance is handled the same way: your approximate location is used to work out how far away you are from someone, but other members are shown only a rounded distance, never your coordinates.

We do not send marketing or automated text messages, and we have no text-messaging capability built into the Service. The phone number you provide is used only to link your event intro video to your profile and to identify your records (see Section 10) — we won't text or call you. If this ever changes, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent before any messages are sent.

If you film an intro video at one of our in-person events (either yourself or with our staff), we save it together with the name, and the phone number and/or email address you provided, so we can link it to your profile when you finish sign-up. Matching is done using the phone number or email address you gave us — you can provide either one. Until you create a profile, the video is kept solely so it can become your intro — no profile or account is created at the event.

The reminder emails we send about a saved video contain a link that passes through our own systems so we can record that you tapped it (see Section 1) before taking you to the page. You can stop these emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any of them, which works whether or not you have an account.

Unclaimed videos are kept for a limited period, then removed from our systems’ active storage. An unclaimed video is kept for 120 days from the date it was filmed, or until April 5, 2027 if that is later. This means videos filmed before December 6, 2026 are kept until April 5, 2027, and videos filmed on or after that date are kept for 120 days. If a video remains unclaimed, we send a periodic reminder that your video is saved, followed by a notice before it is removed.

When we remove a video, we delete the record and the link to the file so that the video is no longer accessible through Keep It Reel Dating, and no longer appears anywhere in the service. Copies may persist for a period in our hosting provider’s storage or backups outside our direct control before they are cleared. We do not use or retain them for any purpose after removal.

If the email address on your event record matches an account you have already created with us, we retain the video beyond the period above so that it remains available to attach to your profile. In that case it is governed by the retention rules for account data rather than by the event-video schedule. You may delete it at any time from your profile, or by contacting us.

If you have already created a profile, the video replaces your current intro video. You may replace it again at any time.

Where a video filmed for you is uploaded after you have already created your profile — for example where our staff filmed on their own camera and uploaded later — our staff may attach it to your profile on your behalf, matched by the email address on your event record. Where you already have an intro video, doing so replaces it. We email you whenever this happens, and we record that the attachment was made by staff rather than by you. You can change or re-record your intro at any time, or contact us at keepitreeldating@gmail.com if you receive a notice you were not expecting.

New profiles created before February 1, 2027 receive free premium access as Founding Members through April 1, 2027. April 1 is a fixed end date that applies to all Founding Members regardless of when they sign up; it is not a per-member duration. A profile created on or after February 1, 2027 does not qualify and starts on the Basic tier. If you bring friends to an event as plus-ones (up to three per event), or a friend names you when they sign up, you may be marked as a Matchmaker and receive one (1) additional month of premium access for each referred friend who creates an account and profile (with intro video), up to a lifetime maximum of ten (10) rewarded referrals. A referral counts only once the referred person completes a profile, and each referred person counts once regardless of how they were referred. Self-referrals are not counted.

Phone numbers and email addresses collected at events may be used to attribute referrals and match saved event videos to profiles, even where the email used at the event differs from the one used to create a profile. When someone names you as their referrer, the phone number or email they provide for you is stored on their record so we can credit you correctly; see Section 5 for how to request removal of information others have provided about you.

We may update this Agreement and will notify you of material changes.

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Arizona.
